Honestly, I do feel bad for the folks who are dangerously cold, without power or water, or generally unable to handle frigid temperatures. I wouldn’t wish that on anyone. However, for those fortunate enough to have a stable environment, maintaining a yard throughout the year can be both rewarding and essential.
As winter approaches, it's crucial to prepare your outdoor space for the colder months. Start by cleaning up fallen leaves and debris, which can harbor pests and diseases. Consider applying mulch to protect plant roots from freezing temperatures. Additionally, ensure that any perennials are cut back and that any tender plants are either brought indoors or adequately covered to survive the chill.
As spring arrives, focus on revitalizing your yard. This includes aerating the soil, reseeding any bare patches, and fertilizing to encourage healthy growth. Regular watering and weed management will set the stage for a vibrant summer landscape. By following these seasonal tips, you can maintain a beautiful yard year-round, regardless of the weather challenges that may arise.
